Global management and oversight of all Imports into all McCormick entities.
Manage, leading and developing a Global Import Operations Team of approximately 18 people.
Ensure policies and procedures are being correctly followed and applied.
Ensuring Compliance of 98% on all Imports.
Maintaining relations with customers, vendors and government agencies, both internal and external.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Global management of all Imports into all McCormick entities whilst ensuring compliance with all standards. Execution of imports to meet plant requirements on time and in full. Work with Supply Chain Planning and Plant personnel on inventory levels; safety stocks and demand. Maintain communication with internal and external customers/vendors, government agencies, identify potential problems as they develop and solve through interaction with other departments. Build and manage relationship with MGil as one of the main contacts. Ensure continuous improvement initiative by continually developing procedures and processes to optimize efficiencies effecting import processing to improve value added services to customers, vendors, purchasing, supply planners and supply chain personnel. Continually review Customs processes in line with CCI opportunities to maximize savings and streamline processes. Maintain customs clearance levels and standard business practices and procedures, to improve efficiencies and reduce per diem or demurrage. Provide leadership and support to develop Import operations personnel. Setting long term goals and provide strategic planning to obtain departmental and functional goals. Work with ITC team and CCI team on cost saving opportunities. W ork with Finance and Supply Chain on Global Claim process ensuring adherence.
CANDIDATE PROFILE Import /Purchasing on the job experience and/or Bachelor’s Degree Import operations/Purchasing background - 3 years, Food Business – 3 years (concurrent). Knowledge of customs, FDA, USDA , CFIA requirements for importing and multiple products (flavors, seasonings, ingredients, coatings) to include raw, packaging and finished goods. Knowledge of shipping, manufacturing processes, inventory management, warehouse and quality of materials
Influencing and negotiation needed with interactions with customs, other government agencies, freight carriers, vendors, transportation and purchasing when resolving issues or implementing change. External Customers as needed. Demand/Supply representatives within Plants, Warehouse, Quality, Supply Chain, Pricing, Accts Payable Project Management SAP Team Leadership Team Management skills
