Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawai‘i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds and 66 bassinets, the nonprofit hospital is Hawai‘i’s only maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and children’s specialty clinics. Our professional, attentive Anesthesiology team provides general anesthesia and pain management services for hospital patients and those who have outpatient surgeries at our facilities. The latest developments in anesthetic techniques provide our anesthesia care professionals with a variety of options to care for patients while ensuring their maximum safety and comfort.
If you can provide sensitive and meticulous patient care, you could help the Anesthesiology department support critical surgical and medical operations with outstanding technical skill and service. As the Anesthesia Assistant, you maintain the upkeep of anesthesia equipment and assist the anesthesiologist and anesthetist before, during, and after anesthesia procedures, and is therefore crucial to the department’s effective use of anesthesia technology for Hawai‘i Pacific Health patients. We are looking for someone qualified and reliable who has excellent communication skills, can work productively with others in a team-oriented atmosphere, and shares our commitment to deliver the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High School or equivalent. Anesthesia Technician Certification from the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT). Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR card. One (1) year of anesthesia related experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Medical Terminology course.
