Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children is well recognized as Hawai‘i’s leader in the care of women, infants and children. With 207 beds and 66 bassinets, the nonprofit hospital is Hawai‘i’s on ly maternity, newborn and pediatric specialty hospital. It is also a tertiary care, medical teaching and research facility. Specialty services include intensive care for infants and children, 24-hour emergency care, neonatal and pediatric air transport and children’s specialty clinics. With a dedicated team of more than 1,300 employees and 604 physicians, the hospital is home to Kapi‘olani Women’s Center, Kapi‘olani Breast Center and Kapi‘olani Women’s Cancer Center, the state’s only dedicated breast health and gynecological cancer centers. Kapi‘olani offers numerous community programs and services, such as the Kapi‘olani Child Protection Center and Sex Abuse Treatment Center, and through our affiliation with the University of Hawai‘i, we are home to the John A. Burns School of Medicine Pediatrics and OB/GYN residency programs.
Our Perioperative Services department provides full support throughout the duration of a patient's surgical procedure, spa nning ward admission, anesthesia, surgery and recovery. Professional care services include identification of the patient’s individual needs, patient care plan development and implementation and the coordination of nursing service to restore each patient’s health before, during and after a surgical procedure.
As a Scheduling Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that specialty patient services are delivered in a timely and sensitive manner. This includes the scheduling of surgical and/or sedation procedures at the request of surgeons, anesthesiologists and other staff, producing statistical and management reports and assisting with departmental functions. We are looking for someone with attention to detail, solid organizational and communication skills and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai‘i’s people.

Minimum Qualifications: High school or equivalent. Medical Terminology course.
