Billing Specialist

We offer complete revenue cycle management, practice management and software solutions to help anesthesiologists with the billing and management of their practice. Our goal is to consistently deliver a high level of personal service with the sophistication required in today’s complex healthcare environment. We are searching for a billing specialist for our Maui office. The duties of the billing specialist include but are not limited to accounts receivable follow up, claims administration and response to patient inquiries. 
 The successful candidate must be an enthusiastic team player who demonstrates the ability to multi task in a fast-paced environment with poised demeanor and positive attitude. 
 
 Qualifications include :
- significant medical billing background, preferably with hospital / surgical experience
- strong collection skills
- Excel experience (general familiarity / beginner level ok)
- solid overall office-based work experience with good tenure record at each employer
- willing to work M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm [options: 8:00-4:30; 8:30-5:00, if necessary]
- solid communication skills
- solid general computer skills
- ability to become a Team Leader a definite plus
- trustworthy / able to work without a local supervisor in attendance
- mature personality capable of interfacing with physicians and patients
- accounts receivable / follow-up to payers and patients
- coordinating courier services
- working correspondence
- incoming phone calls
- contacting facilities and surgeon offices for information
- coordinating malpractice certificates with insurance carrier / facilities
- payer eligibility verification
- back-up for data entry staff (minor)
- physician correspondence for pended tickets / additional information
- Ability to follow through to completion on all assignments
